The temple is believed to have been constructed during the rule of Ahom king Pramatta Singha in CE 1744. It enshrines a giant elephant shaped Ganesha figure. It consists of square Garbhagriha and rectangular mukhamandapa. The outer walls of the sanctum are provided with low sunken niches. The Sikhara of the temple is domical. The mukhamandapa is covered by a barrel vaulted roof.
